Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest national park, covering approximately 3,480 square kilometers of stunning wilderness. Located 300 km from Kampala, it’s divided by the Victoria Nile, offering breathtaking views and diverse landscapes, from savanna to lush riverbanks. The park is home to over 76 mammal species and 451 bird species, making it a paradise for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers. Along the banks of the Nile River, you'll find Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, giraffes, and hippos, all thriving in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Rhino Trekking & Murchison Falls Exploration

After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin your journey to northwestern Uganda. Your first stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild. Enjoy a guided rhino trekking experience, nature walks, and birdwatching at the sanctuary, which currently hosts 15 southern white rhinos.

Continue to Masindi town for lunch, then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, where you may be greeted by playful baboons and warthogs along the way. Upon arrival, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River thunders through a narrow 7-meter gorge. For those feeling adventurous, a hike to the top offers stunning views and photo opportunities.

Day 2: Game Drive & Nile Launch Cruise

Rise early for a morning game drive across the northern sector of the park. Look out for a variety of wildlife including giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, lions, hyenas, and possibly a leopard. The savannah is also rich with birdlife.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, and abundant water birds such as the African Fish Eagle, Malachite Kingfisher, and yellow-billed stork. The cruise culminates at the dramatic base of the falls—an unforgettable sight.
