Ngamba Island is situated on Lake Victoria, approximately 23 km southeast of Entebbe. This peaceful island serves as a semi-natural sanctuary for 49 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees, offering a safe haven through the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust. Besides the chimpanzees, the island is also home to other wildlife, including fruit bats, fish eagles, butterflies, and monitor lizards.

Ngamba Island is easily accessible by boat from Entebbe, making it a perfect day-trip destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Activities on the island include chimpanzee trekking, bird watching, fishing, and guided forest nature walks.
